Learn how to activate, understand and protect your debit card

Debit cards are a very convenient and secure tool for managing finances. Whether you are trying to activate your new card or deal with security issues like loss or fraud, be aware of the steps to take to safeguard your money effectively.

Activating Your Debit Card:

Your new debit card activation is simple, and there are 2 activation options:

1 - Activate via Mobile App:

Our bank offers online banking services. With an online account you can successfully activate your debit card via the Bank of Bartlett mobile app. Just log into your account, press the option “Cards”, and select “Add Card”.

2- Activate via Phone:

BoB provides a toll-free number (1-800-992-3808) printed on the sticker affixed to your new card. Call this number from the phone number associated with your account. This step is very important, as our automated system only recognizes the phone number we have on file associated with your card. If calling from a different number, card activation won’t be possible. Follow the automated prompts to verify your identity and activate your card.

Follow additional Instructions:

After activating your card, create and set up a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for ATM withdrawals and purchases. If you forget your PIN, you can reset it via the Mobile App, or you can call our Customer Care Team at 901-382-6600, option 3.


 

Understanding Debit Card Security

 

Pin Protection

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is your first line of defense. Choose a strong PIN that is not easily guessable, avoid using birthdays or sequential numbers, and of course, never share it with anyone.

Card Information Confidentiality

Keep your debit card information private, avoid writing down your card number, expiration date, and CVV code.

Safe and Secure Transactions

When making an online purchase, ensure the website is secure and reputable. Avoid entering your card on suspicious and unfamiliar websites.

Monitor Account Activity

Regularly review your account statements and transaction history. With Online Banking, you can monitor transactions in real-time. Report unauthorized transactions quickly.

Enable Alerts

Set up transaction alerts with Bank of Bartlett. These alerts can notify you of large transactions, withdrawals and suspicious activity. You can set them up via the Mobile App under the “Alerts” option on the “More” menu.


What to Do in Case of Fraudulent Activity

Contact Us:

Notify our fraud department by dialing 901-382-6600, option 2, where you can report unauthorized transactions and initiate a dispute. Our bank will investigate and resolve fraud cases.

Freeze Your Card:

If possible, freeze your card via the Mobile app under the option “Cards” to prevent further unauthorized transactions.

Update Security Settings:

After resolving the fraud issue, consider updating your PIN and updating your security settings.

Lost or Stolen card:

If you lose your card or it is stolen, contact us immediately by dialing 901-382-6600, option 2 for the fraud department or option 3 to speak with our Customer Care Team.
